I applied to enrol in 5 subjects this semester and initially got 4 approved by the board citing some generic cut&paste reasons. Then I spoke to a grumpy guy on the phone detailing my situation, predicament, plan and determination. He listened impatiently and asked me coldly to put them down in a letter of appeal.
I must've somewhat felt grateful for being on the appellant's side for the first time and so early in my legal life. So I immediately wrote him a letter, painstakingly finger by finger on my iphone and took satisfaction that I had presented the strongest argument. Then I received another bureaucratic letter...Simply put, no one is allowed to finish this course earlier than 3 years. In other words, by granting your appeal, we open the possibility of letting you finish in 3 years. This is most ridiculous. Why haven't you put this rule down in the handbook in the first place.
