It's the middle of the semester. So understandably, I have a mountain of notes in backlog, as well as three assignments which I haven't written a single word for. Amongst all, my cousin is coming over for a short holiday. We were both exhilarated upon finding out that she was going to have a business trip to Australia. Suffice to say that enough plans were made to show her around Sydney and Jervis bay. But that was at the beginning of the semester. I had no way to know...well I should've known better...that the work was going to build up. Now, she is officially expecting only two days with me next week and the rest of the week on her own, and to top it up, potentially a week of bad weather.
What I feel the worst of all is that it is impossible to keep up. I have a lot of time to myself. But when I do the math, it is actually just from 7 to 10 minus minimum 2 hours worth of routines, 1.5 hours in transit (make that 2 if I cycle)...1 hour of idleness...3 hours in a lecture...in theory I have 7 hours of study time if I study like non-stop and totally concentrated. In reality, that rarely happens, let's say, if I get up for a coffee or have sandwiches while typing or reply to an sms or email or browse the web, easily another 2 hours. Now I have 5 hours of real study time minus the time I spend calling my mom, baking a sponge cake or a simply bullshitting on my blog. Vola, looks like it's down to 3. Now with 3 hours left, I haven't even mentioned my social life. So as a result, i study a good 3 hours a day WITHOUT any social or gym time.
Doesn't science always tell the cold concrete solid truth? This is exactly why I hate math.
