a theatrical moment

X enters the stage and kicks the shrunken shadow of a man in the chest.

Now, get up you coward.

the shadow moans.

Come on, fight me!
Unbuckle your belt and beat me
What, you wouldn't fight a man stronger than yourself?

the shadow cries in pain.

Mercy
Young man
Mercy

X laughs.

Mercy, you asked!
Yet you never gave.

X picks up a knife and draws closer to the shadow.

Please forgive me
I am old and ill
I am no threat to you anymore

The shadow retreats, but falls onto his knees.

You sure are old and ill
And pitiful and ugly, I hasten to add
And for that want to be forgiven
But I am not convinced

X holds the knife to the shadow's neck.
Remorse!!!
Monster, remorse!
Did you ever regret what you did?!
Did you ever wonder how we felt?
No,
You were far too busy enjoying the music of us crying in pain!

The shadow groans and attempts in vain to retreat.
No you are not sorry.
You are just afraid.
Monster
Today I serve you justice

X holds up the knife and comes down at the shadow with force. The shadow falls unto the ground.

X exits the stage.

Voice Over
I despise what you did.
So I will never become you.
This is your punishment.
