a dream interview

I must be thinking about job hunting so much that I dreamt of it yesterday night. It took place at a respectable uptown commercial firm named "Page". An indigo coloured logo, consisting of the typographized four letter word, hanged predominantly over the door so that visitors seated in the reception area would take in the full view. The HR and the receptionist took their time to chat and laugh with me to make me feel comfortable. Then, a male, well tanned partner came to talk to me. He was surprised that I had questions for him. I had a list of rehearsed questions to throw at him mainly to show that I'd done some research on the firm. His equally well rehearsed, lacklustre answers made me feel sorry for putting both of us in that position.

Afterwards, I was shown to the office of a weary looking associate. She really made no effort at all: the first question she asked was, "why did you wanna become a lawyer? " I was going to recite my manifesto of love for law when she cut me short. She said with menace, "You wanted to make a lot of money!" I contained my indignity.  "Yes, I did originally. But I've grown to love it....I would like, I mean I prefer commercial law to general law practice..." Meanwhile, two of her colleagues dropped by. She received them in total oblivion to my presence. At that point, K came to kiss me before going to work. The interview ended and I woke up not getting the job.
